RETIREMENT VILLAGES
spacer

With better health and longer life expectancy, the thought of moving straight from the family home to a nursing home is not one most people wish to consider.

That’s why people in the prime of life are considering an earlier transition into a lifestyle environment, allowing them to continue working for as long as they wish to, whilst making a transition into the next stage of their life and enjoying their best years in a friendly village environment with all the facilities and resources they require.

Many people see it as an opportunity to make a major lifestyle and location change – heading to country or coastal regions.

Retirement lifestyle village design has a different set of very specific design requirements both for accommodation and for related facilities.

Retirement lifestyle village design has a different set of specific design requirements both for living accommodation and for shared facilities, such as community centres, sporting facilities and gardens.

Many people are choosing to move into a retirement lifestyle at an earlier age, allowing them to continue to work for as long as they choose, whilst making the transition to the next stage of their life. Retirement villages are able to provide a large range of facilities and recreational opportunities as well as companionship and a peaceful and secure environment.

Rogers Architects & Planners has experience in designing retirement villages in various parts of Australia. Accommodation is varied, but mostly provides for a single person or couple with enough space for visiting friends or relatives, paraking for one or two cards and enough, but not too much, low-maintenance outdoor area.
